Taking inspiration from the Spanish plancha, this traditional method of cooking involves high-temperature searing on a smooth, flat metal plate, often with just a touch of oil and smoke. It's a cooking tradition made famous by dishes like gambas a la plancha, pan-seared prawns served sizzling with a drizzle of olive oil, a squeeze of lemon, and nothing more than garlic if anything at all. Simple, fresh, and full of flavour.

The Plancha Kadai brings this style of cooking outdoors with a distinct Kadai twist. A circular steel searing plate sits on a natural limestone top, offering an easy-to-clean surface that heats evenly and intensely. Beneath it, a base of sustainably farmed mango wood doubles as elegant storage for firewood, tools, or ingredients. Beautiful, practical, and built to last.
Where the plancha truly shines is with ingredients that need fast, hot searing while keeping their centres tender - think fish, seafood, vegetables, or rare steak. Sear directly over intense heat, then slide your food to a cooler area of the plate to finish slowly or keep warm. It's a fluid, intuitive way to cook.
To take things even further, we've designed the Tripod Pulley System to pair seamlessly with the Plancha Kadai. With a simple lift or drop of the chain, you can control the height of your dish over the fire, adding another layer of precision to your setup.
