Kadai is a outdoor living brand built around fire, food and time spent outside. We are best known for our handcrafted barbecue fire pits combinations, but the world of Kadai goes beyond the bowl itself. It is about cooking well, gathering often, and creating a more thoughtful way to live outdoors.
What is Kadai?
At its simplest, Kadai is the original barbecue and fire pit in one. For centuries, the traditional Indian cooking bowl was used to cook over live fire, serving curries and generous feasts.
Reimagined for our gardens, that same design was adapted by adding a grill and two stands, allowing it to move easily from barbecue to fire pit. Raised on the high stand with the grill in place, it becomes a versatile barbecue for proper outdoor cooking; on the low stand without the grill, it becomes a simple fire pit for warmth, atmosphere and gathering around.
Over time, that idea has grown into a complete range of products designed to help people cook, dine, unwind and make the most of life outdoors.

With more than 70 firebowls and accessories across our core collections, Kadai offers something for everyone from barbecue novices to experienced live-fire chefs.

Every design has grown from the vision of our founder, Christo, who has spent more than 20 years creating clever, well-made products for life outdoors. Where we are based?
Kadai is based in Shropshire, where the business continues to run as a small family-led brand with a hands-on approach. Shropshire is not only where the company is based; it is also where much of the Kadai lifestyle is lived and shown, through in-house photography, films, recipes and brand storytelling.
While the products are handcrafted in India, the brand is shaped day to day from the English countryside, bringing together two places that are both important to its identity.
